The MID series of magnetic induction flow meters has a built-in, removable pre-amplifier. The magnetic coils require a 24 VAC power supply. The cable connecting the meter and the converter card is approximately 5 m long (if a longer cable than 5 m is required (maximum 200 m), an extension cable of the same type can be used). In case of malfunction, the pre-amplifier can be removed and replaced; no calibration of the replacement pre-amplifier is required! The pre-amplifier is connected via a plug and socket. The meter can be installed horizontally or vertically. Vertical installation is preferred for better air drainage; it is also less likely that dirt will get stuck in the meter. In case of horizontal installation, the electrodes must be in a horizontal position, i.e. the pre-amplifier must be located above or below - but not next to - the meter body. If the meter is used with the UV-12 converter card, the flow direction (right to left/left to right or bottom to top or vice versa) of the meter is irrelevant. The UV-12 will automatically switch to the given flow direction and the measurement can be started immediately.
