Delta Stato-Sonde Z3 – Static Hot Metal Detector for Extreme Industrial Environments

The Stato-Sonde Z3 by Delta Sensor is a static hot metal detector engineered to safely and reliably detect hot metal objects starting from ≈ 400 °C (750 °F). Designed to withstand the harsh conditions found in steel mills, foundries, and hot-metal processing environments, this sensor delivers stable detection performance with minimal maintenance required.

• High minimum detection temperature: Detects hot metal items at temperatures from ~ 400 °C upward. 

• Viewing / optical field: Vertical field of view ~ 15° and horizontal ~ 4°, allowing reliable detection even when the target deviates somewhat from the center. 

• Robust housing: Heavy-duty aluminum case with protective hood and, optionally, cooling jacket for use in high ambient temperature environments. 

• Air purging and lens protection: Front protective hood with shutter, air inlet to keep debris off the lens; hinged front for easy cleaning. 

• External sensitivity adjustment & test function: Sensitivity can be conveniently adjusted from outside the device; “TEST” function allows simulation of hot metal detection from the control room.

• LED indicators: Multicolor LED status display (power, detection, test) to allow quick visual feedback.

• Optional cooling plate: Used when ambient temperature exceeds ~ 75 °C; helps extend service life of the detector.
