The operating architecture of the Tomoe TA450 is based on the synchronized rotation of a solid cylindrical-conical bowl and an internal scroll conveyor rotating in the same direction at a precisely controlled differential speed via a high-torque planetary gearbox. Slurry is continuously introduced through a central feed distribution pipe into the separation chamber. Driven by a high centrifugal field of several thousand Gs, heavier solid particles are immediately compacted against the inner rotating bowl wall. The internal screw conveyor continuously plows and advances the compacted solids cake up the conical beach section for thorough mechanical dewatering prior to discharge through solid discharge ports, while clarified liquid overflows across precision weir plates at the opposite end.
