General Description
The DCHB 2-wire bar-type current transformer is designed for use with watt-hour meters. It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor service. The transformer meets all applicable CSA, IEEE, ANSI, and NEMA standards.
Construction
The ring-type core is wound from high quality grain oriented silicon steel which has been annealed. The secondary winding is made using heavy enameled copper wire, which is evenly distributed around the core. Depending on the ratio, the primary winding is either wound with multiple copper conductors or with a single copper conductor. The assembly is encapsulated in polyurethane resin inside a molded shell of tough thermoplastic polyester resin.
Primary Terminals
The primary terminals are flat tin-plated copper bars. For ratios up to and including 400:5A, a one-hole connection is available. For ratios above 400:5A, a two-hole pattern is available consisting of a hole and slot. A potential terminal is provided, which can be used on either primary terminal.
